Finish packing
Pack the items you are taking and separate what stays behind.

Moving out of a shared Allston apartment, changing neighborhoods or packing up a full home? Milvus can handle the furniture and boxes, with extra packing help or storage if the dates do not line up. Start with the items that are yours and the addresses they need to reach.
Your estimate depends on the items, access and services you need.

Confirm when you must leave the unit and where loading can take place.
Arrange key collection before committing to a time for receiving the move.
If access to the two homes does not line up, ask about storage between them.
A room in a shared apartment and a whole-home relocation need different inventories. Both deserve a clear plan for what is leaving and who will receive it.
Identify your furniture and cartons in the bedroom and shared areas. Include items in a basement, porch or storage room. If roommates are staying, use clear labels so their belongings do not become part of your shipment by mistake.
If belongings are going to different homes, list each drop-off before the estimate. Group and label cartons by person and destination. Agree who can approve changes and coordinate access, rather than leaving the crew to sort several plans at pickup.
When one lease ends before the next begins, price the moving and storage arrangement as a whole. Include pickup, the storage period and delivery to the new address. Keep a suitcase with the things you need while the rest is stored.

Start with the keys. When must the old apartment be empty, and when can you enter the new one? Include any gap in the quote request before choosing a crew arrival time.
Allston's student population is one part of a wider residential neighborhood, as the city's neighborhood guide describes. Whether you are moving for school, work or a different home, the estimate needs the actual furniture list and access at both addresses.
In a shared apartment, mark your belongings and the items that stay. Roommates going to different addresses need separate stops on the plan, with someone available to direct each part of the load.
Check the loading position at both buildings. On a busy residential block, space visible today may not be available on moving day. For reserved street space, review Boston's moving-truck parking process and agree who will handle the application and signs.
Keep shared halls and the route to the apartment clear. Confirm building moving hours and tell the other occupants when you expect to need the entrance.
For a lease gap, ask about storage and later delivery with the original quote. Keep the belongings needed during that interval outside the stored load.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Discount | $110/hr | $160/hr | $210/hr | $55/hr | $55/hr |
| Regular | $120/hr | $170/hr | $220/hr | $65/hr | $65/hr |
| Subpeak | $150/hr | $200/hr | $250/hr | $65/hr | $65/hr |

| Highpeak | $260/hr | $360/hr | $460/hr | $75/hr | $75/hr |
Discount, Regular, Subpeak, Peak and Highpeak are date categories. Ask which applies to your move. Minimum hours, billable travel, materials and additional services must be confirmed in your estimate.
The hourly rate is not the complete estimate. The household load, stairs, distance from parking and requested packing affect the work. Ask which date category applies and how the billable time is calculated.
If another pickup is needed for a storage unit or a roommate's belongings, include it before booking. A short drive between addresses does not remove the loading and unloading work.
Count the flights from the street, including entrance steps. Photograph the landing where a sofa or desk has to turn. Let us know whether the building has an elevator and whether it is available for moving.
Pack books into manageable cartons, empty shelving and label boxes by the new room. Keep laptop chargers, keys and the items needed that evening in a separate bag.
Request packing help for the parts you want Milvus to handle. A few fragile items and a full kitchen are different jobs; identify them so labor and supplies can be included.

Clear a working path through shared rooms, close the cartons and decide which furniture is actually going. A desk that has already been promised to the next tenant should be marked as staying. Tell Milvus about a mattress, shelving or a sofa that was not on the first inventory before the appointment.
For a busy lease-change date, confirm availability before treating the move as booked. The applicable hourly category and crew affect the price; the amount of preparation affects the work. You can pack everyday items yourself and request help for the kitchen or fragile pieces, with that division recorded in the quote.
List the furniture and cartons that are yours, mark what stays and identify every destination stop.
Give the floor, total flights and entrance steps. Add photos of narrow doors or turning landings for large furniture.
Request an estimate for the load and access. Confirm the hourly category, minimums and billable travel terms for your booking.
Describe the dates and contents when requesting the quote so storage, handling and later delivery can be reviewed.
Include both pickup addresses and the contents at each one. Access, stairs and timing need to be considered at both buildings. Milvus can quote the combined plan; an extra stop should not be left until the moving day.
Arrange access and clear ownership labels in advance. Someone needs to identify the agreed shipment and answer questions about shared areas. Keep any items that are staying out of the loading group so nobody has to guess.
Start with the date and addresses. We’ll work through the items, access and options with you.
