as much as the miles.

A third-floor turn can decide whether a sofa needs to come apart. A loading spot halfway down the block adds carrying time. Those are details we want before moving day.

01Space for the truck

Look at the loading spot at both addresses, including the walk from the truck to the door. Boston offers permits to reserve legal curb space for moving trucks. Check the city’s current instructions and agree who will arrange the space.

02Stairs, elevators & doorways

Count the flights, measure narrow openings and let us know if an elevator needs to be reserved. Photos of a tight stairwell help us assess large furniture before a crew arrives. Share loading-dock rules and any certificate of insurance requirements from your building.

03Lease dates that don’t line up

If you must leave one place before you can enter the next, include the gap in your request. We can discuss a storage plan and a separate delivery date. For September 1 and end-of-month moves, check availability as soon as your dates are firm.

04What stays with you

Keep keys, medications, identification, chargers and the things you’ll need that evening in a bag you carry yourself. Put it aside before loading starts. Label boxes with their destination rooms so unloading doesn’t become a guessing game.

How far ahead should I book Boston movers?

Contact us once you know your date and addresses, especially for weekends, month-end and September 1. If your move is coming up soon, call with the details so we can check availability. Your date is confirmed through the booking process.

Can I pack my own boxes?

Yes. You can pack yourself, request help with selected rooms or ask about full packing. Tell us which option you want when requesting your estimate. Keep boxes closed, avoid making them too heavy to handle and mark the room they belong in.

Can you move furniture from a walk-up?

We handle apartment moves with stairs. Share the floor, number of flights and photos of narrow turns or doorways. For large furniture, include dimensions so we can assess the route and discuss any disassembly or special handling before moving day.

What if my new home isn’t ready?

Tell us the expected gap between move-out and move-in. We can discuss storage, its cost and a later delivery. If the dates change after booking, contact us promptly to review the arrangements and availability.

What should I check about coverage and building paperwork?

Ask our team about the valuation options and written terms for your move before booking. If your building requests a certificate of insurance, send its requirements and deadline with your estimate request so we can review them.

How do I plan an interstate delivery?

Share when you can receive your belongings and any delivery restrictions at the destination. Confirm the pickup date, delivery window, contact arrangements and any storage needs in writing. Keep everyday essentials with you during the trip.
