A whole household
List the furniture and cartons from every room, including a home office and any basement storage. Mark items staying in the property so the crew can follow a clear inventory.

An upstairs apartment and a full-sized sofa can make an Arlington move more involved than the distance suggests. Milvus plans the furniture route, loading space and receiving access, with packing help for the pieces you want handled.
Your estimate depends on the items, access and services you need.
Prefer to talk? 857-895-8955Confirm which door and staircase the movers can use. Include any shared vestibule, side entrance or rear approach in the description.
Check who controls the driveway or curb space and when it will be available. Tell Milvus about other residents’ vehicles or a restricted loading window.
Identify the widest, longest and least flexible pieces. Photographs and measurements help resolve a difficult turn before the crew arrives.

A stairway can look generous in a photograph taken straight up its centre. The upper landing, railing, door swing and ceiling may tell a different story. Photograph those transitions for a sofa, mattress, tall cabinet or other large piece.
In a two-family property, explain which rooms and storage spaces belong to your household. Keep the common route open, and coordinate the use of a shared entrance or driveway with the other residents.
Do the same at delivery. A move within Arlington still needs an assessment of the receiving stairs, room layout and any furniture preparation. If the destination is in Cambridge, Somerville or elsewhere, include its access instructions with the original quote request.
List the furniture and cartons from every room, including a home office and any basement storage. Mark items staying in the property so the crew can follow a clear inventory.
Separate your belongings from shared furniture and other residents’ items. Include a second collection address or a furniture purchase before the estimate is finalised.
Milvus publishes five date categories for local moving. The table shows the hourly rate for a crew with a truck. Confirm the category for your date and the complete booking terms before accepting your estimate.
| Date category | 2 movers + truck | 3 movers + truck | 4 movers + truck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discount | $110/hr | $160/hr | $210/hr |
| Regular | $120/hr | $170/hr | $220/hr |
| Subpeak | $150/hr | $200/hr | $250/hr |
| Peak | $180/hr | $230/hr | $280/hr |
| Highpeak | $260/hr | $360/hr | $460/hr |
Additional mover and additional truck rates are $55/hour each in the Discount category, $65/hour each in Regular, Subpeak and Peak, and $75/hour each in Highpeak. Ask which crew and vehicle arrangement fits your inventory.
The hourly rate is one part of the estimate. Confirm minimum billable time, travel, packing labor and materials, access-related work and any other applicable charges. A move is not booked by viewing these rates.
A shared driveway requires the property owner’s or residents’ cooperation; curbside parking is a different matter. Check the town’s current parking information and the restrictions at the actual location. Do not assume a space usually available to a car can be reserved for a moving truck.
For a managed apartment or condo, obtain the moving instructions, permitted times and any documentation requirements. Send those details to Milvus before the appointment is arranged.
Let us know if a long carry is likely or the truck may need to use an alternative position. That information belongs in the service and price discussion while there is time to make a practical plan.
Use manageable boxes and label the receiving room. Keep cartons within your space until the agreed loading sequence begins.
Point out glass, art, antiques and vulnerable finishes. Request any special packing or preparation before booking.
Keep keys, documents, medication, chargers and the things you need that evening with you.
Have someone available at the new property to confirm where the main furniture goes and to review the delivery.
Have a different situation? Call 857-895-8955 and talk it through with Milvus.
Send the floor, staircase photographs and inventory so Milvus can review the route and handling. Include landings and large-item dimensions, not only the number of flights.
Coordinate with the owner and other residents, and tell Milvus when the space can be used. Confirm a practical loading arrangement before the move.
That depends on the furniture and its construction. Share photographs and maker instructions where available. Confirm suitable preparation rather than assuming every piece can be dismantled.
Yes. Add those belongings and describe the basement entrance, steps and carrying route when requesting your quote.
The loading and unloading work still depends on the inventory and access. Confirm expected time, minimum booking and travel charges in addition to the hourly category.
Yes. Specify the items or rooms needing packing and ask for the labor, materials and appointment sequence to be included in the estimate.
Send the two addresses, floor details and furniture list. Photographs of the stairs and entrance are especially useful.
