Walk through every place your belongings live
A bedroom count is useful, but it can miss a lot of moving work. Take a short walk through the property before requesting an estimate. Include the spaces you use occasionally as well as the rooms you see every day.
Main living rooms
List sofas, tables, cabinets and larger electronics. Identify a glass top, antique finish or awkward piece that needs a separate preparation discussion.
Bedrooms and upper floors
Count beds, dressers and desks, and say which pieces need disassembly. Photograph the stair turns and doorways for your largest items.
Basement, attic and garage
Include shelving, boxed belongings, tools and exercise equipment. Tell us how each space is reached; an exterior basement entrance can have a different route from the main stairs.

Connect the driveway to the rooms, not just the front door
Show where the truck can stand and how the crew will reach each exit. A long driveway, a low branch or a narrow turnaround can change the practical parking arrangement. Share photographs rather than assuming the largest vehicle can reach the front steps.
At the house, identify thresholds, outdoor steps and the hall leading to the main rooms. In a multi-level property, include the basement and upstairs routes as well. Milvus can use these details to discuss the crew, preparation and carrying work.
For an apartment or a property with shared access, check with management before booking. Around South Acton and other busy locations, a nearby parking space may serve residents or commuters rather than moving trucks. Confirm a lawful loading arrangement for your actual address.

Additional mover and additional truck rates are $55/hour each in the Discount category, $65/hour each in Regular, Subpeak and Peak, and $75/hour each in Highpeak. Ask which crew and vehicle arrangement fits your inventory.
The hourly rate is one part of the estimate. Confirm minimum billable time, travel, packing labor and materials, access-related work and any other applicable charges. A move is not booked by viewing these rates.

If work, family or a closing schedule leaves little packing time, ask about help for selected rooms or the full inventory. Confirm the packing appointment, materials and what must remain accessible until moving day.

Confirm when pickup can finish
Tell Milvus about a house closing, inspection or lease deadline that requires the old property to be empty. That deadline belongs in the scheduling discussion.
Confirm when delivery can begin
Obtain the key-handover time and access instructions for the new home. A hoped-for closing time is different from confirmed access.
Resolve a gap before pickup
If the dates do not align, discuss storage, handling and redelivery before the load leaves Acton. Keep personal documents and overnight essentials with you.

Request the packing work and preferred timing when arranging the move. Availability, labor, supplies and the sequence of appointments are confirmed with the booking.
What happens if my closing is delayed?
Contact Milvus as soon as you know. Storage or a changed schedule may be possible, but availability and any additional handling or charges need to be discussed.
Is the $110 hourly rate available on every date?
No. It is the published Discount category for two movers and a truck. Other date categories have different rates, and your estimate should confirm the category and any additional charges.
