Travels with you
Set aside identification, keys, medication, work equipment, chargers, clothes and supplies you will use while between homes. Keep these separate before the mover arrives.

Moving out before the next home is ready? Separate the belongings you need with you from the items going into storage, then price pickup, storage and final delivery as one connected plan.
| Situation | What the plan needs |
|---|---|
| The whole home goes into storage | A complete inventory, packing and protection plan, storage estimate and an arrangement for final delivery. |
| Only some belongings need storage | A clearly separated list of stored items and the pieces going directly to the new home. Confirm each destination and handling stage. |
| The new-home date is uncertain | Discuss the billing period, how to extend storage and the notice needed for redelivery. Keep immediate essentials outside the stored load. |
| You expect to retrieve selected items | Ask how access or retrieval is arranged and charged. Do not assume you can walk into a managed storage facility whenever you need a carton. |
Set aside identification, keys, medication, work equipment, chargers, clothes and supplies you will use while between homes. Keep these separate before the mover arrives.
List furniture and cartons by room, with a short description of contents. Photograph important pieces and their existing condition. Label cartons on more than one side so they can be identified later.
If there is a split delivery, provide a separate inventory and clear destination labels. Confirm the receiving address, access and timing for this portion of the move.

Make sure household items are dry before they are boxed or covered. Follow appliance manufacturers’ preparation instructions and discuss any item that needs specialist handling.
Tell Milvus about wood finishes, upholstery, glass, artwork and fragile pieces. Ask what preparation, materials and storage conditions are appropriate for the belongings in your inventory.
Use room names and a brief contents list rather than labels such as “miscellaneous.” Keep your inventory where you can access it without opening the stored boxes.
Confirm the moving labor, transport, packing and materials required to bring the items into storage. Identify any special preparation before collection.
Ask how the space is assessed, when billing starts, the minimum period if any and how extensions are handled. Use the written terms for your booking.
If you may need something during storage, discuss the process, notice and charges before placing it in the load.
Include handling out of storage, transport and delivery to the new address. Update the quote if the destination, inventory or access changes.
Ask Milvus for the current list of items that cannot be stored or transported. Raise questions about food, liquids, fuel, chemicals, batteries, plants and unusual equipment before packing them. Do not hide uncertain items inside sealed cartons.
Review the agreement’s coverage, valuation and claims information. Ask how condition and inventory are recorded and what to do if something needs attention. A general description of storage does not replace the terms for your belongings.
Make sure you will have keys and permission to receive the shipment. Check the building’s hours and any required elevator reservation.
Share the full address, floor, entry route, parking or dock arrangements and any required documents with Milvus.
Confirm availability and use a simple floor plan or room labels. Tell the crew which pieces need to be placed first.
Check the inventory and condition as the belongings are received. Keep the relevant paperwork and raise questions through the process in your agreement.

Ask Milvus to quote the items you want stored and any separate delivery. Prepare two clear inventories so stored belongings and direct-delivery items are not mixed during loading.
Confirm the access or retrieval arrangements before booking. Managed storage may require notice, staff handling and additional charges; use the terms for the specific service you choose.
Contact Milvus as soon as you know. Discuss storage extension, billing and the notice needed for a new delivery appointment. Also update any building reservation.
Your estimate depends on the items, access and services you need.
