The full household
Include rooms and stored areas, not just the largest furniture. Add packing needs, approximate carton count and any extra address.

Milvus moves Gardner households and selected furniture loads, including pieces with delicate finishes or removable components. Add packing where you need it, and arrange storage if the receiving home is not ready.
Your estimate depends on the items, access and services you need.

A cabinet can include removable glass, shelves, drawers, keys and small fittings. Identify those parts before the item is prepared and discuss which should be removed or packed separately. Keep owner-removed hardware in an identified container.
Point out loose joints, existing damage and delicate finishes. Photos help explain the condition and should stay with your moving records. Do not add tape directly to a finish without discussing suitable preparation.
Tell Milvus how the piece reached its current room. If it was assembled there, describe the construction and the available doorway and stair route before agreeing on the moving work.
Household moving can include the furniture preparation and assembly agreed in your estimate. Restoration, repairs, wall mounting and appliance connections are separate tasks and should not be assumed to be part of the move.
For an antique, piano or unusually heavy piece, provide the type, dimensions, condition concerns and access. Ask for its handling to be reviewed within the overall plan before the crew and appointment are confirmed.
At the receiving home, check the route to the intended room and leave space for any agreed assembly. Keep components identified until the piece is in its final position.
| Access point | Useful detail |
|---|---|
| Stair turn | Photos of the landing and ceiling, plus furniture dimensions |
| Doorway | Usable opening and turning space on both sides |
| Outside approach | Steps, surface, slope and distance to loading position |
| Truck position | Available standing area, turning space and any restrictions |
Keep the route clear of cartons and loose packing materials. The receiving property needs the same review even when collection is straightforward.
Include rooms and stored areas, not just the largest furniture. Add packing needs, approximate carton count and any extra address.
List each piece and its preparation. A smaller load still needs travel, minimum billing and access reviewed.
Identify the stored group and expected duration. Discuss protection, handling, conditions and later delivery before pickup.
Milvus publishes five date categories for local moving. The table shows the hourly rate for a crew with a truck. Confirm the category for your date and the complete booking terms before accepting your estimate.
| Date category | 2 movers + truck | 3 movers + truck | 4 movers + truck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discount | $110/hr | $160/hr | $210/hr |
| Regular | $120/hr | $170/hr | $220/hr |
| Subpeak | $150/hr | $200/hr | $250/hr |
| Peak | $180/hr | $230/hr | $280/hr |
| Highpeak | $260/hr | $360/hr | $460/hr |
Additional mover and additional truck rates are $55/hour each in the Discount category, $65/hour each in Regular, Subpeak and Peak, and $75/hour each in Highpeak. Ask which crew and vehicle arrangement fits your inventory.
The hourly rate is one part of the estimate. Confirm minimum billable time, travel, packing labor and materials, access-related work and any other applicable charges. A move is not booked by viewing these rates.
Send the addresses, dates, furniture and access photos. Milvus is based in Waltham, so have travel included in the cost discussion.
Identify packing, materials, disassembly and any specialist handling. Explain what you will prepare yourself.
Review crew, date category, billable time, minimum time and applicable charges. For a destination in another state, request an interstate estimate.
Arrange keys, building access and an available recipient. Choose rooms for larger pieces and keep the carrying route open.

Provide photos, dimensions, removable components and known condition concerns. Discuss appropriate preparation and the route through both homes before booking.
Agree on the preparation first. If you remove components, identify them with the item and ask about suitable packing rather than placing loose glass with ordinary cartons.
Repairs and restoration are separate from moving. Have disassembly, assembly and placement requirements identified in the estimate, and arrange specialist repairs separately where needed.
Yes. List each item, size and access route. Confirm the crew and handling arrangement along with minimum time and travel.
Milvus is based in Waltham. Request the full travel and billable-time calculation; the published hourly crew rate alone does not give the total.
Discuss storage before collection, with duration, conditions, handling, access and redelivery charges confirmed.
Send both addresses, dates and inventory. Add photos of delicate pieces, removable components and the route through the home.
