Owner-packed move
Milvus moves the agreed household inventory. Identify furniture and delicate belongings still needing preparation, rather than assuming every item is ready because the cartons are closed.

Milvus handles Franklin household moves, with packing for selected rooms or the full home. Plan the furniture, access and receiving dates with us while the rooms are still in use, and leave the packing work you choose to the crew.
Your estimate depends on the items, access and services you need.

Start with belongings that can remain boxed. Keep sealed cartons along a wall and leave access to larger furniture and doorways.
Specify fragile items, rooms, furniture disassembly and materials. Discuss when that preparation can happen and what you will finish yourself.
Separate keys, documents, medication and overnight belongings. Make sure the items you need during a storage gap remain with you.
Milvus moves the agreed household inventory. Identify furniture and delicate belongings still needing preparation, rather than assuming every item is ready because the cartons are closed.
Request selected-item, room or household packing. Tell Milvus how much remains unpacked and have materials, labor and the appointment sequence included in the estimate.
Provide the exact pieces and all addresses. Confirm crew, travel, minimum time and any receiving-side assembly for the smaller appointment.

A kitchen can be mostly packed while a few ordinary cups, plates and essentials remain available. Set that small group aside and explain it if professional packing is scheduled. The same approach works for clothes and the belongings used each morning.
Do not stack open cartons across the passage or use the stair landing as a packing station. The crew needs access to furniture, and you still need to move through the home while preparation continues.
If the amount of packing grows, update Milvus before pickup. Additional cupboards or fragile items can change the labor and supplies required.
Milvus publishes five date categories for local moving. The table shows the hourly rate for a crew with a truck. Confirm the category for your date and the complete booking terms before accepting your estimate.
| Date category | 2 movers + truck | 3 movers + truck | 4 movers + truck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discount | $110/hr | $160/hr | $210/hr |
| Regular | $120/hr | $170/hr | $220/hr |
| Subpeak | $150/hr | $200/hr | $250/hr |
| Peak | $180/hr | $230/hr | $280/hr |
| Highpeak | $260/hr | $360/hr | $460/hr |
Additional mover and additional truck rates are $55/hour each in the Discount category, $65/hour each in Regular, Subpeak and Peak, and $75/hour each in Highpeak. Ask which crew and vehicle arrangement fits your inventory.
The hourly rate is one part of the estimate. Confirm minimum billable time, travel, packing labor and materials, access-related work and any other applicable charges. A move is not booked by viewing these rates.
At pickup, show the driveway or street-loading arrangement and the entrance to use. Include stairs, narrow turns and furniture that was assembled inside. Photographs of the whole route help explain more than a floor number alone.
At delivery, obtain any management moving hours, elevator reservation and paperwork requirements. Check that the larger furniture fits the available route and decide where it belongs. Arrange an available recipient with keys and room instructions.
Milvus is based in Waltham. Confirm travel and the full billable-time calculation for a Franklin appointment. If the receiving address is outside Massachusetts, request an interstate estimate for the complete route.
Coordinate pickup with keys and receiving hours. Tell Milvus if another delivery or contractor will need the same entrance.
Identify the stored inventory and likely duration. Confirm storage conditions, access, handling and later delivery charges before collection.
| Include | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Two complete addresses and dates | Defines the route and property availability |
| Furniture list and carton estimate | Gives the crew and vehicle discussion a basis |
| Packing and disassembly | Identifies preparation that still needs to happen |
| Photos and building instructions | Explains access and fixed moving windows |

Discuss which rooms and belongings can be prepared early and which remain in use. Agree on the packing sequence and keep daily essentials separate.
Yes. Identify those items and quantities, with the labor, materials and timing confirmed in the estimate.
Tell Milvus before the appointment. The additional work and supplies need to be reviewed rather than left as a moving-day surprise.
Ask for the minimum billable time and full estimate for your appointment. The published hourly rate alone does not establish the total charge.
Create a separate inventory and discuss duration, conditions, access, handling and redelivery. Keep belongings you need during the gap with you.
Confirm keys and receiving access, keep the carrying route clear and identify rooms for larger furniture. Share any building reservations or paperwork requirements in advance.
Send both addresses and dates, plus the furniture and rooms you need moved or packed. Add the receiving property’s access requirements.
