Furniture and prepared boxes
You handle ordinary packing; Milvus quotes the listed furniture and cartons. Include disassembly and anything still needing protection so the appointment has the right scope.

The garage, basement and spare room can change an Auburn moving estimate as much as the bedrooms. Milvus helps plan the complete load, from everyday furniture to the belongings stored out of sight. Tell us what is moving, where it is now and where it needs to go.
Your estimate depends on the items, access and services you need.

Count the shelving, bicycles, storage totes and tools you intend to take. Separate items you are giving away or leaving with the property. Photograph larger equipment and describe its condition and approximate size.
Do the same walk-through in the basement and any detached storage area. A three-bedroom description can conceal a much larger load if several rooms are devoted to hobbies, work or stored household goods.
Ask Milvus about restricted materials before packing the garage. Keep fuel, paint, chemicals and other uncertain products out of ordinary cartons until you have the moving instructions for those items.

Request packing for selected rooms or a fuller household. Agree on supplies, labor and timing, especially if pickup must finish before a closing or lease deadline.
Discuss storage at the outset. The quote needs to cover what is collected, how it is stored and how it reaches the final address, with handling and delivery charges explained.
| Area | Useful detail | Why it belongs in your request |
|---|---|---|
| Driveway | Entrance width, slope, overhead branches and turning area | Helps assess a practical truck position |
| Basement | Inside stairs or exterior door, landings and ceiling height | Shows the route for heavy or rigid pieces |
| Upper floor | Door openings, turns and large furniture dimensions | Helps identify disassembly or difficult clearance |
| Receiving home | Parking, floors, elevator and room destinations | Makes the estimate account for unloading too |
Do not dismantle rails, doors or structural parts just to make an item fit. Share the measurements and photos, then discuss the proposed approach. Any work outside the agreed moving scope should be arranged separately.
For a move between Auburn and Worcester or another Massachusetts community, include the receiving floor, parking and access rules. A short driving route can still involve a long carry or several flights at the new property.
Milvus operates from Waltham, so confirm the travel arrangements for your Auburn appointment. For a move to Connecticut, Rhode Island or farther away, request the appropriate interstate estimate and a delivery window that fits the receiving property.
If the destination is a storage unit you arranged yourself, provide the facility address, access hours, unit location and route from the truck. Confirm who supplies entry credentials and whether the facility has vehicle restrictions.
Milvus publishes five date categories for local moving. The table shows the hourly rate for a crew with a truck. Confirm the category for your date and the complete booking terms before accepting your estimate.
| Date category | 2 movers + truck | 3 movers + truck | 4 movers + truck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discount | $110/hr | $160/hr | $210/hr |
| Regular | $120/hr | $170/hr | $220/hr |
| Subpeak | $150/hr | $200/hr | $250/hr |
| Peak | $180/hr | $230/hr | $280/hr |
| Highpeak | $260/hr | $360/hr | $460/hr |
Additional mover and additional truck rates are $55/hour each in the Discount category, $65/hour each in Regular, Subpeak and Peak, and $75/hour each in Highpeak. Ask which crew and vehicle arrangement fits your inventory.
The hourly rate is one part of the estimate. Confirm minimum billable time, travel, packing labor and materials, access-related work and any other applicable charges. A move is not booked by viewing these rates.
Use a clear room-and-destination label on cartons. Separate anything staying behind, especially when a garage or basement contains items for several people.
Identify which beds, desks or shelves need disassembly. Keep existing loose hardware with the correct item and explain any damaged or unstable joint before handling.
Keep doors, stairs and walkways free. Arrange for children and pets to stay away from the loading area while furniture is being carried.
Set aside keys, identification, medication, chargers and the items needed before unpacking. Do not put access documents for the new home into the truck load.

It is a starting point. Add garages, basement rooms, shelving, equipment and storage areas, then list larger furniture and the approximate carton count.
Include its location and everything being collected there. Describe the ground surface, doors and distance to the proposed truck position.
Ask for the applicable restricted-item instructions before packing those materials. Do not assume that an item can travel because it was included in a garage inventory.
Provide both addresses, inventory and dates for an estimate. The travel, crew and access arrangements will depend on the actual appointment.
Supply the facility and unit details, hours, loading route and entry arrangements. Milvus can discuss moving the listed belongings into or out of that facility.
Compare the expected work, estimated billable time and total service scope as well as the hourly rate. The lower hourly number does not necessarily produce the lower complete estimate.
Send both addresses and a room-by-room list. Include the garage, basement and any large or unusual items.
