When planning a move,
- Let your kids know as soon as possible,
- show them a new place in pictures or go there together if possible,
- tell them the reason for moving and ask their opinion,
- tell them about a new kindergarten or school,
- make them involved in the packing process,
- charge them with filling up a box with “secrets”,
- don’t rush to throw away toys,
- don’t prevent them from keeping in touch with friends,
- give your child time to adapt: take an active part in their life and don’t forget to give them a pat on the back.
A little time will pass and the child will get used to a new place. With your support, obviously. Good luck with moving!
